Military president Traore has made amendments to the constitution and this will allow prisoners to be workers on government farms and industries. The amendment indicated that 1 month of hard work in these farms and industries is equivalent to 3 months reduction in their sentences.
His initiative has been commend by the prisoners and most Africans.
Traore believes that the backbone of Burkina Faso economy is agriculture therefore the need to utilize human resource.
This initiative will also help in the rehabilitation and reintegration if these prisoners into their societies.
