Tension erupted at Obuasi Senior High Technical School in the Ashanti Region after students allegedly assaulted their headmaster following the discovery of what was believed to be a buried newborn baby on the school campus.
According to reports, the incident began when a student claimed he saw the headmaster, identified as Zakaria, burying something near the school's dumpsite at about 3:00 a.m. on August 3. The student later informed his colleagues, who went to the location to investigate.
The students reportedly uncovered what appeared to be the body of a newborn baby buried beneath a covered hole.
After the discovery, the headmaster and some teachers went to the scene to address the situation. However, angry students allegedly attacked the headmaster, leaving him with serious injuries.
According to Otec News, the incident has sparked concern within the school community.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The identity of the baby has not been confirmed, and it remains unclear how the child ended up on the school premises or who is responsible. Obuasi Municipal authorities have also not publicly commented on the matter.
