Prophet Kofi Oduro, the founder and leader of the General of Alabaster International Ministry, has strongly criticized a female member of the Wesley Cathedral Methodist Church for describing her pastors and elders as "thieves and armed robbers" over tithe payments.
The controversy began when a video surfaced online showing the woman expressing her frustrations about what she called a church policy that denies financial support to members who do not pay tithes.
But Prophet Oduro is not mincing words in his response.
In a passionate address to his congregation, he dismissed the woman's outrage, suggesting that the amount of money involved is likely too small to justify such strong language.
"So when you left your home to come and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour, didn't you know that you would pay offering or tithe?" he asked. "Who in this room can pay a tithe of one million dollars?"
He then posed a pointed question:
"So, how much is the money that she is making a big deal out of? How much is your money?"
But the prophet didn't stop there. He went on to question whether the same woman would have dared to speak to a fetish priest the way she spoke to her pastor.
"How is it possible for a church member to stand before her pastor and spew such nonsense?" he said.
"Can you stand before a fetish priest and say such nonsense? How many of you go empty-handed when you visit a fetish priest? Who has ever taken blood money with an empty hand?" He said.
