Only 5,000 Out of Over 400,000 Applicants to Be Recruited into Security Services — Interior Minister
The Minister for the Interior has revealed that only 5,000 applicants will be recruited into the country’s security services despite receiving more than 400,000 applications from interested candidates across the country.
According to the Minister, the overwhelming number of applications highlights the high level of interest among the youth in joining the security services, including the police, immigration, fire service, and other security agencies.
Limited Vacancies
The Minister explained that the recruitment exercise is highly competitive because the number of available vacancies is limited compared to the huge number of applicants.
He noted that the recruitment process will ensure that only qualified and capable candidates are selected to serve in the various security institutions.
Fair and Transparent Process
The Interior Minister assured the public that the recruitment exercise will be conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner, stressing that there will be no favoritism or interference in the selection process.
Applicants are therefore encouraged to follow all recruitment guidelines and prepare adequately for the various stages of the selection process.
Advice to Applicants
The Minister also advised applicants who may not be selected this year not to lose hope, explaining that recruitment into the security services is done periodically and more opportunities may become available in the future.
He further urged young people to explore other employment opportunities and skills development programmes while waiting for future recruitment exercises.
