An examination at the University of Calabar (UNICAL) was abruptly halted after a lecturer mistakenly handed out exam papers that contained both the questions and their answers.
According to accounts from students present in the hall, the lecturer distributed the papers as the exam began. Shortly after students started reading through the document, it became clear that the paper included the correct answers alongside the questions.
For several minutes, the situation reportedly went unnoticed by the lecturer while students continued writing.
However, a born-again student eventually stood up and informed the lecturer about the mistake. She reportedly explained that she could not continue with the exam because The Holy Spirit was against taking advantage of the error.
After confirming the issue, the lecturer immediately cancelled the examination to prevent any academic misconduct.
The incident has since generated discussion among students, with some questioning how such an error occurred during the preparation of the exam papers, while others say the decision to report the mistake was the right step to protect academic integrity.
The university has not yet released an official statement regarding whether the examination will be rescheduled for another date.
