Abura Dunkwa Gyaasehene Destooled Over Affair With Fetish Priestess

The Gyasehene of Abura Dunkwa, Nana Obo Kwefuah VIII, has reportedly been destooled by the Odompem Adwenadze Royal Family in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District of Ghana’s Central Region.

Key Allegations Behind the Destoolment

According to family representatives:

Nana Obo Kwefuah VIII allegedly engaged in a romantic relationship with a fetish priestess, an act considered inappropriate under traditional norms for a chief.

He reportedly failed to perform required traditional rites and responsibilities, including duties during festivals.

The royal family also accused him of altering family headship records and forging stool land documents connected to the stool.

Royal Family’s Position

The announcement was made by Abusuapanyin Kwame Essoun, who led the destoolment process.

The family indicated that several attempts were made to summon the chief to address the issues, but he allegedly failed to appear.

As a result, traditional rites were performed to formally remove him from the stool, and the public has been urged not to recognize him as Gyasehene anymore.
