MINAB, Iran — March 1, 2026: Iranian state media say 148 children were killed and at least 95 others injured after a reported U.S.–Israeli bombed the Shajareh Tayebeh girls’ primary school in Minab, southern Iran. Most of the victims were young girls between 7 and 12 years old.
Parents reportedly rushed to the school after hearing explosions, as rescue teams worked through rubble to pull out survivors. Hospitals in the area are said to be overwhelmed and calling for urgent medical supplies and blood donations.
The United States has said it is reviewing reports of civilian casualties, while international humanitarian groups are demanding an independent investigation. The incident has sparked anger, vigils, and protests across parts of Iran and the Middle East.
