A 43-year-old woman, Mary Agbenu Edorla, has shared a painful story of how she lost her husband of three years to a female police officer who was handling a case involving her family.
According to her, her husband Stephen Tengey is now involved with Detective Chief Inspector Divina Worlanyo Afenu, an officer at DOVVSU, Tema Katamanso Police Station.
How It All Started
Mary said her problem began after their domestic help stole money from her and ran away. The girl was later brought back by the police with a neighbour, who claimed the girl was hiding in an uncompleted building and feared her mother would beat her.
Mary was invited to the police station to give a statement and was asked to bring the girl’s parents.
The Turning Point
She said the case officer asked her husband to travel to the girl’s village to bring her parents, which he did. After the case was settled, strange things began happening.
According to Mary:
The police officer started calling her husband late at night.
Her husband claimed it was about investigations
She believed him until she found nude photos sent by the officer to her husband’s phone. That was when she realised an affair was going on.
Denial, Then Shock
Mary said the officer first denied everything. But one morning, she saw her husband leaving the officer’s house after spending the night there.
When she confronted them, her husband assaulted her.
Police Response
She reported the issue to senior officers at the station but said nothing was done. She later escalated the matter to the Tema Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Kwadwo Badu-Adu.

DOVVSU is handling the case
The husband, Stephen Tengey, is yet to report to assist investigations
Her Painful Conclusion
“I introduced my husband to her because she was handling a case I was involved in. Today, I’ve lost my marriage,” Mary said through tears.
