TTAG confirms Colleges of Education reopening shift to February 9
The Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana has confirmed the rescheduling of the reopening date for public Colleges of Education.
TTAG said colleges will now reopen on Monday, February 9, 2026. The earlier date was Monday, January 19, 2026.
The confirmation followed a leadership meeting with the Director General of Tertiary Education on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. Discussions focused on the CETAG strike and its impact on academic activities in the colleges.
TTAG said leadership remains in constant engagement with the National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education. Talks aim to agree on a clear direction for the final year macro teaching and internship programme.
The association urged final year students to stay calm and focused. TTAG said updates will reach you as discussions continue.
TTAG also restated commitment to ongoing engagement with the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission. The engagement targets a lasting resolution to the CETAG strike before the new reopening date.
The update aligns with an official notice from PRINCOF which announced the same February 9 reopening date for all public Colleges of Education.
TTAG said the association will continue to represent your academic and professional interests during the process.
