PRINCOF reschedules Colleges of Education reopening to February 9, 2026
The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education has postponed the reopening date for all public Colleges of Education.
A statement signed by the General Secretary, Dr Samuel Addae Boateng, announced a new resumption date of Monday, February 9, 2026. The earlier date was Monday, January 19, 2026.
PRINCOF addressed the directive to all principals of public Colleges of Education across Ghana. The notice carried a reference dated January 14, 2025, from the PRINCOF Secretariat in Accra.
The leadership explained the decision as part of efforts to ensure adequate preparation ahead of the academic calendar. The statement said institutions require additional time to complete internal arrangements linked to teaching and learning delivery.
PRINCOF acknowledged the disruption the change brings to staff and students. The leadership appealed for cooperation to support a smooth transition into the academic session.
Principals received instructions to inform staff and students without delay. Management teams must adjust academic and administrative plans to align with the new resumption date.
The directive went to the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, and other key stakeholders in teacher education.
The rescheduling affects all public Colleges of Education nationwide. PRINCOF reaffirmed commitment to quality teacher education and ongoing collaboration with stakeholders.
