New Ghana Card Fees Approved: Full Breakdown of NIA Charges Effective February 2, 2026

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced new Parliamentary Approved Fees and Charges for Ghana Card services. These fees apply to both Ghanaian citizens and foreign nationals and will take effect from Monday, 2nd February 2026.

The revised charges cover services provided at District Offices, Premium Centres, and under the Foreign Identification Management System (FIMS).

District Office Services (Standard Services for Ghanaians)

These services are available at all NIA District Offices nationwide.

First-Time Registration (Below 25 years): Free

First-Time Registration (25 years and above): GHS 30.00

Card Replacement: GHS 200.00

Record Update Only: Free

Record Update with Replacement of Card: GHS 200.00

Nationality Update: GHS 200.00

Card Renewal: GHS 150.00

Card Transfer Services: GHS 75.00

Premium Centre Services (Expedited Services for Ghanaians)

Premium Centres provide faster processing at higher approved fees.

First-Time Registration: GHS 410.00

Card Replacement: GHS 520.00

Record Update with Replacement of Card: GHS 410.00

Nationality Record Update: GHS 410.00

Card Renewal: GHS 410.00

Record Update Only: GHS 165.00

Foreign Identification Management System (FIMS)

These fees apply to foreign nationals residing in Ghana. All charges are in United States Dollars (USD).

First-Time Registration: $120.00

Annual Renewal of Card: $78.00

Multiple-Year Renewal (Minimum of two years): $75.00

Replacement of Card: $78.00

Nationality Update: $120.00

Update of Records with Replacement of Card: $70.00

Update of Record Only: Free
