GETFund opens postgraduate local scholarship applications for 2025 26 academic year
The Ghana Education Trust Fund has opened applications for its postgraduate local scholarship scheme for the 2025 26 academic year.
The scholarship targets Ghanaian students pursuing Masters and PhD programmes in accredited public tertiary institutions across the country.
Applications officially open on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. The deadline for submission is Friday, February 20, 2026.
GETFund said applicants must complete the process through the official scholarship portal. The online form requires accurate personal and academic details. Applicants must upload scanned copies of all required documents for vetting and shortlisting.
Officials said shortlisted applicants will receive direct communication after the vetting process ends. All application requirements and procedures appear on the portal.
GETFund issued a strong caution to applicants. All correspondence must remain between GETFund and applicants. Applications must go through the official portal only. No individual or agency acts as an intermediary for GETFund scholarships. Reports of intermediaries must reach the nearest police station.
The fund also outlined eligibility restrictions. Persons with disabilities enrolled in public tertiary institutions do not qualify under this scheme. Such applicants must apply through the Students Loan Trust Fund government support initiative.
GETFund urged applicants to rely on official information and follow instructions carefully. The fund aims to support postgraduate education and strengthen human resource development in Ghana.
The application portal remains accessible throughout the application period. Applicants must complete submissions before the February 20 deadline to receive consideration.
