GES Secures Financial Clearance for 6,249 Newly Recruited Teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially announced that it has received financial clearance for the payment of salaries to 6,249 teachers who were recruited in 2024 but had not yet been placed on the government’s payroll.

According to a press statement released on 16th October 2025 and signed by Daniel Fenyie, the Head of Public Relations at GES, the clearance will allow the Service to begin all necessary administrative processes to ensure that the affected teachers receive their salaries without further delay.

GES stated that this clearance will enable the completion of salary processing and placement on the mechanised payroll, with payments expected to begin from November 2025. The management also assured staff that the financial clearance remains valid until 31st December 2025, giving ample time to finalise all documentation and ensure timely payment.

In the release, GES management expressed appreciation to all newly recruited teachers for their patience and dedication, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring timely and accurate salary payments across the education sector.

This development brings much-needed relief to the newly recruited teachers who have been waiting for months to receive their first salaries. It also demonstrates the government’s continued effort to improve the welfare of teachers and strengthen the education system in Ghana.
