Bawumia Welcomes VP Opoku-Agyemang Back Home After Successful Treatment Abroad

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has extended a warm welcome to Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang upon her return to Ghana from the United Kingdom. Professor Opoku-Agyemang had been receiving medical treatment abroad for 45 days after falling ill on March 28, 2025, and was declared fit by her doctors in the UK before her return on May 22, 2025.

President Mahama expressed relief at her return, describing it as both reassuring and politically significant.
Gratitude:The Vice President expressed her gratitude to Ghanaians for their prayers, her doctors, and the medical staff at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC). She also thanked President Mahama for his support during her illness.
Return to Duty:With her return, Professor Opoku-Agyemang is expected to resume her duties in full capacity, engaging in a series of meetings and national engagements. Her office is expected to release further updates on her official schedule.
