About the ‘No Fee Stress’ initiative

The No Fee Stress Initiative, aimed to alleviate the financial burden on first-year students at public tertiary institutions by providing free tuition, was launched in April by the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.

According to Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the No Fee Stress Policy seeks to remove admission, registration, academic user, and facility fees for first-year students in both public and private tertiary institutions.

This program, funded by the government, is being implemented through the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF). Students can access the program through the “No-Fees-Stress Portal,” a digital platform for registration and managing the financial support

The policy requires first-year students to submit their application through the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) to cover their admission and facility user fees.

To apply, a student is required to visit https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh or https://www.sltf.gov.gh and provide their Ghana Card identification number, telephone number, and student ID number.

The user-friendly digital portal https://nofeesstress.sltf.gov.gh allows students to register, submit their details, and enable SLTF to verify their eligibility for the program.
