GES Grants Easter Break for Form Two Transitional Track Students

Travel

In a recent announcement by the Ghana Education Service (GES), Form Two students in Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools operating under the Transitional Track system have been granted an Easter break. The scheduled break will run from Thursday, 17th April to Monday, 21st April 2025, providing students a brief but meaningful opportunity to reunite with their families during the Easter festivities.

Optional Break, Structured Supervision

According to the directive signed by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division, the break is optional. Students who prefer to stay on campus during the holidays will be allowed to do so, but must be properly supervised to ensure their safety and continued well-being.

This balanced approach accommodates both students who wish to spend time with family during Easter and those who may be unable or choose not to travel home.

Prompt Return Expected

Students who take the opportunity to travel are expected to report back to school on Tuesday, 22nd April 2025. Schools are expected to resume full academic activities immediately upon students’ return, with no delays tolerated in the academic calendar.

A Well-Coordinated Message

Regional Directors have been tasked with ensuring the dissemination of this information to all affected Heads of Schools for appropriate action. The directive ensures smooth coordination and clarity across all transitional track schools nationwide.

A Thoughtful Holiday Window

While brief, this Easter break offers a timely pause for students, especially after intense academic periods. It allows room for rejuvenation, family bonding, and spiritual reflection—an essential part of holistic student development.
