Opoku Prempeh Urges Voters to Look Beyond Hardship

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has held the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration responsible for the country's current difficulties. Speaking at a rally at the Effiakuma Police Park, ahead of the NPP's 2024 manifesto launch, he positioned the NPP as the party to lead Ghana into the future, in contrast to the NDC's past governance.

Opoku Prempeh urged Ghanaians not to let current hardships alone dictate their voting decisions, arguing that under NDC leadership, the challenges would have been far more severe. He pointed out that even without the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the NDC had previously threatened to withhold salaries from teachers and nurses, questioning how they would handle today's circumstances.

Other NPP leaders echoed similar sentiments, stressing the party's achievements and calling for a united front to ensure a significant victory in the upcoming elections. Kennedy Agyapong acknowledged the frustrations within the party but emphasized the need for unity and reconciliation. Joe Ghartey, the Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, called on Ghanaians to support the leadership of Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

The NPP is set to launch its manifesto on Sunday.
